The Science of Vermicompost

Vermi-composting is the use of worms to further breakdown organic material in compost. It is a very effective way to release boundless nutrients that are still locked up even after the regular composting process is complete. This paper was published in 2009 but is still extremely relevant today. It breaks down the chemical differences in compost after it has been digested by different types of worms.

In order to really have the best yields and the most pest/disease free plants, we must embrace the abilities of these underground eating machines. Sadly, their work often goes unnoticed. It’s time we bring attention to their wonderful contributions! Happy Reading!
