1. Why should I work with RRFS?

There are countless different styles of landscaping business, but RRFS specializes in food growing systems that are unique and custom to your lifestyle. We will hear your vision, brainstorm with you about projects that can be done at different price points, and provide educational training about the things we are doing along the way. Real Roots Food Systems is also a business with sustainability at the core of its purpose. We are empowering people one by one to take back control of their food, while saving them a little bit of money in the long run.

2. What is a CUA?

CUA stands for Certified Urban Agriculturalist. The title is earned by completing a certification program based around learning how to address the challenges associated with growing food in an urban setting.

3. Can't you just grow the food for me?

Short answer, yes. RRFS does provide maintenance services that can cover everything from pruning/watering to harvesting and putting the veggies on your kitchen counter. We do however encourage our clients to be engaged in the growing of their food. We try our best to assess your level of gardening experience, so that we can provide as much meaningful instruction as possible.

4. How much does it cost? How long will it take?

The cost of an average installation ranges anywhere from $500-$1000, labor costs included. For larger projects the price can be more, but most of the work we do at RRFS is at the small scale, affordable level for an individual or family. Payment plans are available in most cases. The projects can take a few days or can be spread out over a few weeks, depending on the availability of the client and whether or not they need to be present while work is done.

Workshop costs vary based on if they are needed at a specific place/time, will require long distance travel or overnight lodging, or are particularly short notice. Workshops can be done at a significantly lower rate in certain situations, just reach out to us at info@realrootsfoodsystems.com and let us know what you’ve got going on. We are glad to work with you if funds are not readily available.

5. Do you make references avaialble?

Yes. We are a new business just beginning to build up our clientele, but we have many happy customers who you could reach out to in regards to our work. Just add a request for references in your contact form or email.
